A Lone Gunman Shot and killed two New York police officers at close range. Then the man went into the subway and shot himself. Prior to this incident, he shot his girlfriend. No reasons for the shootings are known at this time.

Black Lives Matter rally protesters numbering 75, tried to block traffic on I-70, a major artery through downtown Kansas City. After police arrested several of them, the protesters marched on to a rally at the Sprint Center where Texas A&M is playing K-State.

North Korea has asked for a joint investigation into the Sony hacking. The White House declined and suggested the isolated country admit what they did and compensate Sony for their losses. N. Korea hacked the company’s employees’ emails and released them. And the hackers said they would do more if Sony didn’t pull The Interview, a comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. The premise of the movie is “taking out” Kim Jong Un, N. Korea’s leader.

Sony says it was not them but the theatre’s who said they would not show the movie. President Obama said in his end-of-the-year press conference about Sony,

I wish they would have spoken to me first.
